Pat Dolan, Sr., a coal-handling superintendent
for a large power plant, founded Conveyor Services Corporation
in 1980. Pat and a small crew of craftsmen began servicing
mines and power generation facilities in western Pennsylvania,
providing on-site belt vulcanizing and belt repair.
Using an old World War II military ambulance
to haul materials and equipment, Conveyor Services began
its tradition of emergency response and quickly became
known as "The Belt Doctors", on call 24 hours a day,
365 days a year.
Over the years, the organization expanded
its capabilities and its size and has become the largest
conveyor service organization in the United States.
